The time has come, my little friends, to talk of other things – Walrus, Alice in Wonderland

Peter Jones

I went to Varsity Pitch last night at the SAID Business School, Oxford University.
The event was hosted by the Entrepreneur clubs of Oxford and Cambridge University and had a panel of business people including Martha Lane Fox (lastminute.com), Michael Birch (Bebo.com), Jim Lawn (Microsoft UK), Ian Lobley (3i) and Peter Jones (Dragon’s Den).

Its kind of weird cos I have wanted to meet Peter Jones for a little while now. Although some of my colleagues dont warm to him, I love his role in the Dragon’s Den and his direct approach to business and getting things done. After the event I had a chance to meet him and generally just talk about a TV business idea I had which I had emailed him. He said he had received it and remembered the name of the programme. Yes I was a bit chuffed. And yes he is that tall!!! Nice bloke. Nice energy.

Incidentally he has an upcoming programme in March called Tycoon for those who may be interested. He also has quite a vibrant online community for those who may be interested.

  1. Well done, Dave, for getting in front of Peter (and how great that he remembered you!). This is what it is all about: being front of mind with key people when you have something important to say.

I’ll cross my fingers for you and I know you will go from strength to strength!
